FNLL SUMMER BALL & ALL-STAR OVERVIEW

Each summer, Fairfield National Little League (FNLL) offers additional baseball opportunities for players who want to continue competing and having fun after the spring season. This includes both All-Star travel teams and a Summer House League.

All-Star Teams by Age Group

Ages 10–12

  • District All-Star Teams
Our highest-level teams compete in the official Little League District Tournaments and potentially beyond. These teams require a strong commitment and play 5–7 days per week from mid-June through July (or longer if they advance).
  • Tournament All-Star Teams
These teams play competitively against other towns through local tournaments and league play. Schedules typically include 3–5 days of baseball per week.

Ages 8–9

  • Tournament All-Star Teams
FNLL fields one or more balanced teams to compete in player-pitch (9u) coach-pitch/machine-pitch (8u) tournaments. These programs provide a fun and competitive experience against other towns throughout the summer.

All-Star Selection Process

FNLL has recently updated its All-Star selection process to ensure it is fair, consistent, and transparent.

  • Regular season managers provide rankings of eligible players based on season-long performance, sportsmanship, effort, and coachability.

  • Rankings are reviewed by the FNLL Executive Board in collaboration with the respective Division Coordinator and selected All-Star Manager to ensure consistency, completeness, and fairness.

  • The All-Star Manager then builds the rosters with flexibility to consider team needs and balance.

  • All rosters are submitted to the FNLL Board for final review and approval before teams are announced.

Player Eligibility

Players must play 75% of their regular season team's scheduled games, including playoffs, to be eligible for District All-Star teams.

This rule may be waived by the President and/or the Player agent for any player who was unable to fulfill this mandatory participation requirement due to injury or illness.

Summer House League (Ages 9–12)

Players who simply want a more relaxed summer experience — are invited to join the Summer House League (run in partnership with Fairfield American Little League). The season runs from late June through July, with 2 games per week and an emphasis on fun and skill development.
