Fairfield has two Little Leagues, National and American. Divisions are formed Little League age.  Little League age is defined by an August 31st cutoff based on the 2022 Little League age chart www.littleleague.org/downloads/2022-baseball-age-chart/.  For example, players who reach their 6th birthday on or before August 31st are Little League age 6 for 2022. Players who reach their birthday after August 31st are Little League age 5.

  • T-Ball is played by players who are Little League age 5
  • 6YO T-Ball (6T) is played by players who are Little League age 6
  • Minor B is played by players who are Little League age 7 or less
  • Minor A is played by players who are Little League age 8 or less
  • Minor AA is played by players who are Little League age 9 or less
  • Minor AAA is played by players who are Little League age 12 or less
  • Majors are played by players who are Little League age 10, 11 or 12, who participate in a Majors evaluation and are drafted to a Majors division roster.

*Note: T-Ball and Minor teams are formed primarily by elementary school district.  Majors’ teams are the result of a draft.

Fees for T-Ball, 6yr T-Ball and Minor B will be $210.  Fees for Minor A through Majors will be $250.  All fees include a uniform.  Families experiencing financial hardship may request a full or partial waiver by sending an email to danalperovich@hotmail.com.  Payments can be made online or by cash or check made payable to “Fairfield National Little League” or “FNLL”.  Each player registration received after February 22nd (Majors, AAA, AA & Minor A) and March 1st (All other divisions) must include a $25 late fee and that player will go on a waiting list.  Players who register late will only be assigned to teams with openings.

Evaluations for Majors are currently scheduled for the Saturday, March 5th at the In-Sports facility in Trumbull CT.   Additional details regarding times will be posted on our website in February.  Tryouts will take place in 60 minute intervals, with players evaluated in groups of 10.  During the registration process, all eligible players (10, 11 and 12yo players) should be prepared to either sign-up for the evaluation or decline tryout. ALL returning Majors players will be exempt and not required to participate in the evaluation process.

Games will begin Saturday, April 9th with opening day ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd.

Melville Parking

FNLL Families

As we begin our summer All-Star season, just a friendly reminder regarding the parking rules related to Melville Park.  When attending a practice or game at Melville #1, we kindly ask that you park on the downward side of the Melville Drive.  If you are attempting to park on the upward slope of the hill we kindly ask that you please stop by the last house before the park.  There is absolutely NO PARKING on the uphill side of Melville Drive from the start of the park to the stop sign and the Garden Drive / Greenlwan Drive intersection.  Of course we as a league try to work with the local community so we ask that you please be cognizant of the neighbors and do not block any driveways.   In addition, there is also NO PARKING over the curb onto the lawn on the uphill side as well as entering the park with your vehicle and parking inside the park.   For coaches scheduling games with other towns, we kindly ask that you please pass along these parking rules so our opponents do not park illegally and potentially receive tickets from the local police.

For families who are attending games or practices at Melville #2, we would kindly ask that you do not park on Melville Drive but use the Marian Road entrance form Fairfield Woods and park on either Mirian or Littlebrook Road.  This will provide you direct access to Melville #2 and provide parking to our teams using Melville #1.  Of course, we would also ask that you respect the neighbors on this dead-end road and please refrain from blocking the driveway of all home owners.
